Ruins Under The Sun

Avihcai & Nir are two of my best photographer friends and mentors. When they asked me to join them on a trip to Shivta, an ancient city located in the Negev desert in Israel, I jumped at the opportunity.

Shivta - originally Sobata (Greek: Σόβατα) or Subeita (Arabic: شبطا) - is known for its well-preserved Byzantine-era ruins. We arrived at Shivta just as the sun was setting. The sky was ablaze with vibrant oranges and reds, and the light was perfect for photography. we set up the camersa and began snapping pictures of the ruins, trying to capture the magic of the place in each frame.

As I walked around the ancient city, I was struck by the sense of history that permeated the air. The ancient stone walls and arches seemed to whisper stories of the people who had lived and worked there centuries before. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as I photographed the ruins, knowing that I was capturing a small piece of the rich history of this special place. Shivta in the sunset had been a truly memorable experience and one that I knew I would always treasure.
